Joseph W DaubenJoseph W. Dauben is Distinguished Professor of History and the History of Science at Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY) and a member of the Ph.D. Program in History at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Professor Dauben has een a member of the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and Clare Hall (Cambridge), and the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Senior ACLS Fellowship. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and an honorary member of the Institute for History of Natural Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the author of Georg Cantor, His Mathematics and Philosophy of the Infinite and Abraham Robinson: The Creation of Nonstandard Analysis, a Personal and Mathematical Odyssey, and co-author of a three-volume Chinese-English dual-language edition of the ancient Chinese classic, The Nine Chapters on the Art of Mathematics, written in collaboration with Guo Shuchun and Xu Yibao.
