Joseph PalenJoseph Palen was born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1935, has a BS from the University of Missouri, an MS from the University of Illinois, and a PhD from Lehigh University, all in chemical engineering. For forty-seven years he worked for the chemical rocess industries. He was married twice and has six children and eleven grandchildren.
