Jorge Humberto ChavezJorge Humberto Chavez was born in Ciudad Juarez, on the US/Mexican border in 1959. Since 1980, he has published seven collections of poetry in Mexico, the current volume (Te diría que fuéramos al Río Bravo a llorar pero debes saber que ya no hay río i llanto) being the most recent, as well as being the winner of the Aguascalientes National Poetry Prize in 2013. His work has been translated into several languages and books have appeared in English (a selected poems in the U.S.A. in 2003), French and Italian. A major career retrospective volume is in development at Ediciones Vaso Roto (Monterrey & Madrid). Chávez also founded the Chihuahua International Festival in Ciudad Juarez, founded and coordinated the international writers' meetings 'Literatura in el Bravo', and curated the International Literary Festival in San Luis Potosi.
