Jordan ZlotolowJordan Gabriel Zlotolow was born in Los Angeles on September 20, 1977, the youngest of three boys to parents from different continents. His passion for travel and the exotic was instilled in him early as his Israeli mother, actually originally born i Arad, Romania, took him, his two brothers, and his father to the holy land every summer for many years. With Adolfo being from Mendoza, Argentina, Jordan got to go there too but only once and as incident with a badger in the zoo combined with the distance probably explains why it had only been one trip. Growing up in Los Angeles, California, and being bilingual in Spanish, Jordan was always immersed in languages and cultures from around the world at an early age. Jordan was always a storyteller before he started writing. A famous orator, he would give lengthy speeches about nothing in particular then graduated to making tape recordings on family trips. One time his father had one of the tapes transcribed by a secretary and that technically was the first writing he did. Officially starting in seventh grade due to a creative writing exercise, he became a writer. He would also be the focus of senior year writing comp, having his stories read to the class by the teacher. A slew of short stories later, started during his senior year of high school, Dragon Blade marked the first of three novels and a novella that would be written later. Being well read in the realm of fantasy he is inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Terry Brooks, Roger Zelazny, Piers Anthony and in terms of Eyes of the Dragon, Stephen King as well. Hopefully Jordan's other three books will eventually be published as Jordan admits that though Dragon Blade is amazing and a milestone in his life, they are even better. Read More Read Less
