The first five books take place in the early days of the State of Israel and feature private investigator Adam Lapid, a Holocaust survivor and former Nazi hunter. The sixth ovel, The Auschwitz Detective, is a prequel that takes place in Auschwitz-Birkenau in the summer of 1944.
