Jonathan AldrichJonathan Aldrich authored eight volumes of poetry and four chapbooks. At Harvard College he won the Lloyd McKim Garrison Prize for poetry and the Academy of American Poets Prize. He was a Frost Scholar at The Bread Loaf School of English (from which e received his M.A. in 1964); Principal of Argenta Friends School in British Columbia, Canada; Assistant Director of The Bread Loaf Writers' Conference; and teacher of English at various colleges, including Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and of English and Liberal Arts for twenty-five years at Maine College of Art, at which he was recognized for a Best Teacher award by faculty vote. His translation of Charles Baudelaire's Le Voyage, illustrated by Alison Hildreth and hand-printed by David Wolfe Productions, won a Baxter Society Award. Aldrich was a trustee and volunteer for Portland Stage Company for twenty years. He and his wife, Nancy, have two grown children, Tom and Tess, and two granddaughters, Junie and Mina.
