He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hil medical school and completed post graduate training at East Carolina University. He has been a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice for over 25 years. After years of people saying; "You need to write a book!," he finally did. He lives in Laurel Fork, Virginia with his wife, Nora, who does everything he doesn't do in the office.
