John Seubert

John SeubertDr. John M. Seubert is a Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta. He obtained his MSc in Biological Sciences (Simon Fraser University), PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology (University of Western Onario) and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIEHS). His research program focuses on the biological role essential fatty acids have in cardiac homeostasis and pathology. A central theme involves understanding the role the cytochrome P450 system has within the cell to assist in the development novel drug targets and strategies to limit injury. He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He has co-authored over 78 primary peer-reviewed articles. He has mentored over 90 undergraduate students, pharmacy students, graduate students, postdoctoral research fellows and research fellows. His research has been funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
