John Dudley DaviesJohn Dudley Davies is a former Bishop of Shrewsbury, and now is an Honorary Assistant Bishop of St Asaph. He was, for fifteen years, a rural priest and a university chaplain in South Africa, where he was deeply involved in the ideological struggle aginst the cruelty and injustice of apartheid. In 1970, the Government of that country terminated permission for him to live and work there. Since then he has served as a minister in England and Wales, and as Principal of the College of the Ascension in Birmingham.
