John DizikesJohn Dizikes is the author of four books, including Opera in America: A Cultural History, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award. He is a Professor Emeritus of American Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. A founding member f UCSC's Cowell College in 1965, he later served as Provost.
