John Charles RyleJ. C. Ryle (1816-1900) had a distinguished ministry of vocational Christian service as a pastor, author, and scholar. He was educated at Eton College and the University of Oxford, ultimately receiving a Doctor of Divinity diploma. He served as the fist Anglican bishop of Liverpool.
