Joe NalvenJoe Nalven studied philosophy at Columbia College, anthropology at UC San Diego and law at the University of San Diego. He is a recipient of a Rockefeller Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Affairs. He served as the Associate Director of the Intitute of Regional Studies of the California and the Institute of Chicano Urban Affairs. In addition to his academic and community involvement, he is a visual artist and co-author of Going Digital: The Practice and Vision of Digital Artist. Along the way, he was a NCAA fencing champion.
