Joanne Dubbs BallA native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Joanne Dubbs Ball has lived in the Farmington Valley area of Connecticut for most of her adult life. Spending her childhood and teenage years just a few blocks from four of Lancaster's theatres during those goldenyears, she acquired a fascination with films and their stars that continues today. Combining this interest in movies with her avocation as a collector of costume jewelry from the same era was, according to the author, a match made in heaven; making Jewelry of the Stars is a natural follow-up to her previous book, Costume Jewelers: The Golden Age of Design (Schiffer, 1990.)
