Jimmie English JonesJimmie Elizabeth English Jones, a retired Detroit Public School Librarian, has been married to Pelham Jones for more than 60 years. She is the mother of two adult children. She lost a third son to lung cancer in 2013. Jimmie is grandmother of six chidren and great-grandmother of two. A United Methodist Woman, Jimmie spends much of her time with her grandchildren, in church work, with her college alumnae association, and in other community activities. Jimmie is an avid reader and is inspired by the stories of eminent people. She believes, however, that we all have human interest stories that may have appeal to some readers. Because she loves to write, Jimmie has chosen to share more about herself, before and after her retirement years. After graduating from Mather Academy in Camden, SC, she received her Bachelor's of Arts degree from Bennett College for Women. Later, she acquired a Master of Library of Science degree from Wayne State University. In Surviving City Life, her second book, Jimmie shares more of her 83 years. it is a more fulfilling look at her life than her 1st book, A Southern Belle Remembers: Reminiscences of God's Graces.
