Jim TschritterI grew up in Victoria, B.C., Canada. When I was a young man I was sponsored to go to Japan to study Judo. I obtained a third-degree black belt. When I came back to Canada, I taught Judo. I started Judo clubs all over B.C. and the Northwest TerritoriesMost of my adult life was spent in recreation, and I was most inspired when working with children.I've always had a heart for children. I enjoyed teaching them and watching them succeed. In 1974, my daughter Tara was born. It was one of the happiest days of my life. It was after her birth that I came up with the idea of BB, the superhero in this book.I would think of finishing the story of BB after the birth of my daughter Holly, and then again after the birth of my son Tyrone. But it wasn't until COVID and the pandemic lockdown that, while going through a box, I came across the incomplete story and drawings I had done of BB.It was then I learned that the monarch butterflies, one of God's most beautiful creations, were rapidly heading towards extinction. After learning that the destruction of habitat by man and climate change were the two main reasons for their drastic decline, I decided to complete this book. I would love to see this story be an inspiration to young people in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It is my hope that young people everywhere will form Monarch Clubs. By planting seeds and spreading the message, they can help BB and Olivia's dream come true. That dream is to Save the Monarch Butterflies! Read More Read Less
