As election agent and a senior party executive, he worked with cabinet ministers, MPs, MEPs and Members of the House of Lords. After politics, he retrained as a driving instructor and spent many happy years getting hundreds of pupils of all ages through their driving tests. After suffering a stroke Jim completed a 1400 mile fundraising walk for the NHS. Now he is enjoying a well-earned retirement, but is still as active as ever in the local community. You just can't keep a good man down.Jim has always had a love of the sea and all things maritime. Technical details and knowing exactly how things work has always fascinated him.
