While researching the towns, they discovered an astoundin number of men who died in World War II. They told their stories in, Little Minnesota in World War: : The Stories Behind 140 Fallen Heroes from Minnesota's Littlest Towns. The latest book, A Tale of Two Basketball Towns and Their Coach Jim Musburger: Strandquist and Karlstad 1956-1979, celebrates the legacy and history of small town sports in rural Minnesota. Jill, a retired physical therapist, and Deane, a retired physician, founded Beagle Books in Park Rapids in 2001. Today they enjoy music, writing and the outdoor life in northern Minnesota.
