Jibran IqbalDr. Jibran Iqbal is a Chemist with a focus on Green, Sustainable and Environmental Chemistry. He received his PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry in June 2012 from School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, East China University of Science and Tecnology (ECUST), Shanghai, China. During his PhD at ECUST, he developed novel green and sustainable Chemistry tools and techniques for highly sensitive environmental pollutants analysis. He currently is an Associate Professor at Zayed University, UAE. His approach to teaching is to help students build and discover how disciplines and concepts are interconnected. He is motivated and passionate about working with students as they apply concepts to new situations and are challenged to develop creative problem-solving skills. Dr. Jibran's research is highly interdisciplinary, focused on the interface between Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials and Nanotechnology for the development of sustainable water solutions and trace analysis of heavy metals and emerging organic pollutants. He has keen interest in developing nanocomposite, nanoporous and 2D materials for potential applications in catalysis, separations, SERS, sensing and clean energy.
