Jiangfeng ZhangDr. Zhang, Ph.D. is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Automotive Engineering at Clemson University. He obtained his BSc and Ph.D. in mathematics from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engieering from the University of Strathclyde, U.K. He was a lecturer at the Shanghai Jiaotong University during 2000-2002, then a post-doc researcher in a number of universities before he moved to the University of Pretoria in 2006, where he was appointed as a research fellow, a senior lecturer, and eventually an associate professor. He moved to the University of Strathclyde in 2013 and then the University of Technology Sydney in 2016. His current research interest is on electric vehicle-related topics, ranging from battery management, smart grid, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and demand-side management (DSM). His research experience includes electric vehicle battery charging/discharging control and grid integration; peer-to-peer energy trading; electricity market; distributed generation planning; solar thermal and PV efficiency; electric power dispatch; generator maintenance scheduling; operational efficiency improvement of industrial energy systems (pumps, conveyors, winders, and crushers); residential demand response; measurement and verification; building energy audit and nonlinear control systems amongst others. He has authored or co-authored more than 500 publications, including international journal articles, conference proceedings papers, book chapters, and technical reports, with an H-index of 33, an i10-index of 75, and over 3332 citations (according to Google Scholar).
