Born 12 miles away in Wilbur at doctor's home.Graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary High School Coeur d'Alene, Idho 1966.Graduated from Washington State University Pullman, Washington 1970 with BA in business specializing in Hotel and Restaurant Administration.Became part of the management team at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles designated as one of the five most beautiful hotels in the world.Returned to Coeur d'Alene and became President and Co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality Co. whose flagship is the world class Coeur d'Alene Resort and golf course featuring the world's only floating green. The company grew to a number of hospitality properties with nearly 2,000 team members.Served on the board of directors of First National Bank of Idaho and later became a founding board member of Idaho Independent Bank.Served as President of the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce, the Idaho Innkeepers, Kootenai County United Way and St. Thomas Catholic Church. Was selected as the first statewide Chairman of the Idaho Travel Council. Named by his alma mater, Washington State University as the youngest Alumni Achievement Award winner. Honored as a member of the State of Idaho Hall of Fame and the Washington State University Hall of Fame. Selected by the Governor of Idaho as Idaho's Outstanding Tourism Individual of the state.Married to his wife, Dr. Ellen Jaeger for 55 years. Two children Jennifer and her husband Damon and son Jason and his wife Angela and five grandchildren from the two families Jasmine, Jacob, JD, Jordan and Jennelle.Semi-retired in 2018.Has authored two mystery novels under the penname of JJ Hunter (Jaeger means hunter in German) and mystery thriller Red Diamond Justice by Jerald J.
