He earned Economics degrees from the University of Southern California (BA) and California State University at Long Bech (MA). His Ph.D. in Community College Leadership (Higher-Education Administration) was awarded by the University of Texas, at Austin. During Dr. Marsee's career, he worked in the non-profit and for-profit higher-education sectors as an instructor, chief financial officer, provost, and president.
