Before moving to Portugal, Jeannine wored as a journalist in Belgium and Washington, D.C.; served as a press specialist at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels; studied in the United States and Italy; taught English in France; and lived in Cape Verde. She has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in International Relations and a Master's degree in Creative Writing. She lives in Vila Nova de Gaia, near Porto, a city she finds irresistibly photogenic.
