Javier UriarteJavier Uriarte is Associate Professor of Latin American literature at Stony Brook University. His research interests include travel writing, environmental humanities, the Amazon, territorial imagination in Latin America, theories of space and place, ar and representation. He has published The Desertmakers: Travel, War, and the State in Latin America (2020), and two co-edited books: Entre el humo y la niebla: Guerra y cultura en América Latina (2016) and Intimate Frontiers: A Literary Geography of the Amazon (2019).
