Janine BonhamJanine Bonham is a seasoned classroom and
online educator who specializes in curriculum development in the areas of earth
science, astronomy, biology, and marine science. Janine holds a Bachelor of
Arts in Environmental Biology and Geosciencs from Lafayette College and a
Masters in Education from Lehigh University. Her experience as an educator
originated in college by teaching fellow students as a laboratory assistant in
both geology and biology science labs. After graduate school, Janine moved to
the Big Island of Hawai'i to teach science for 12 years and had the opportunity
to explore the islands of Kaua'i, O'ahu, Maui, and Hawai'i.
She currently serves as a volunteer with the
NASA Solar System Ambassador program, where she engages with the public about
NASA's space exploration efforts and discoveries. Her favorite missions include
the Parker Solar Probe, the Juno mission, Mars Perseverance, and the James Webb
Space Telescope.
Outside of academic life, Janine is a mother
of two girls and four cats, a SCUBA diver, a yoga instructor, and has studied
hula with Hālau Kaʻeaikahelelani. She currently resides in Bethlehem,
Pennsylvania, teaching middle school earth science classes.
