Janet WilliamsonJanet Williamson's story is about a unique journey with God as a single parent, the voices of her children heard through pages of dark valleys, mingled with joy, hope and humour, while grappling with the mysteries of things not understood. The Scriptres, worship, prayer, church, friends and the community were sources of strength and comfort as this family put their faith in God, while yearning to grow spiritually. Studying Early Childhood Education was her parenting foundation to understanding child development and moving the family to Texas to attend Christ For the Nations Bible Institute anchored them in trusting God. Back to Canada, she worked as a teacher assistant and as a child and youth worker that equipped her to support her children emotionally and academically. Attending evening courses at Trent University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by a Bachelor of Education at York University which opened the door to elementary teaching. Additional courses at Queens University equipped her with a Specialist in Special Education. Later, she attended Tyndale University and earned a Masters in Divinity majoring in counselling and at the Toronto School of Theology, she completed the Chaplaincy Program at The Scarborough Hospital, Grace Division. Janet continued to work in education and volunteer counselling until she retired in 2013 and recently moved with her Akbash dog to Vernon BC Canada, anticipating the next chapter of her journey with God.
