James McVeyJames McVey worked as a professor at the University of Colorado for twenty-five years, teaching classes in English and Creative Writing. In 1984, he worked as a wildlife biologist on a loon survey in the Adirondacks. He is the author of four books, icluding The Wild Upriver and Other Stories (Arbutus Press, 2005) and The Way Home: Essays on the Outside West (The University of Utah Press, 2010). Today, he is the director of Victory Gardens, a nonprofit organization in Colorado dedicated to building local food systems in mountain communities.
