James F LichtenwalnerJames D'Onofrio Lichtenwalner was born in Bethlehem PA, the son of the late James F. Lichtenwalner and Ann E. (D'Onofrio Assetto) Lichtenwalner. He grew up in a close knit Italian-American community surrounded by Italian tradition. He was extremely cose to his Italian born grandmother, Maria Vincenza Assetto D'Onofrio, with whom he spent the majority of his early years listening to stories about her struggles immigrating to the USA and establishing her family here. Jim attended an Italian elementary school and spent much of his free time immersed in Italian culture. This time formed the basis for Jim's interest in his ethnic roots. Jim went on to earn his B.S and MBA from Lehigh University. He has remained close to his Alma Mater and served as Class President, Class Reunion Chairman, Area Agent as well as serving on the National Giving Committee, Freshmen Coordinating Committee and General Reunion Committee. Jim is proud of his attendance at over 50 Lehigh-Lafayette Football games. Jim's Professional carreer included over 39 years of employment by PPL Inc in various Engineering, and Management positions. He also served on the adjunct faculty of DeSales University, Muhlenberg College, LCCC and NCACC and as a Management Consultant for companies in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Jim was also a member of the Board of Directors of Penntech Inc. Since his retirement, Jim continues to be active in his community, but spends a significant amount of time researching his roots including 3 trips to Italy where he was able to gather significant information on his family.
