James a CalderwoodI grew up in South Australia on a farm. I did not have a happy childhood in a house filled with arguments and worse. At year six i was sent to Prince Alfred College in Adelaide with my brother. I had been bullied in our 12 student school next to our frm. I was a miss-fit at college. After being taunted and hit by some of the other boys i learned to fight. After working in town for a few years i bought a farm. This land was covered in limestone rocks. The large property adjoining had hundreds of kangaroos and emus who ate most of our crops. My wife kids and i moved to a large farm near Port Lincoln. The land needed a lot of work. My wife and i trebled the farm production. in the off season we went opal mining with a large old bulldozer at Coober Pedy this was very interesting . There were about 50 nationalities in this small town. I invented more efficient earth.moving tools to save the huge time effort and expense of blasting the cap-rock. I patented this idea and nearly had it on the market with a multinational business when the global financial Crisis hit . I have always enjoyed listening to stories from other people . especially my father-in-law John Henry. I started write when i had a bad farming accident and had a badly broken leg. many of the interesting stories i have heard will be lost soon if not written down Read More Read Less
