Jamai WrayA psychology student, Jamai Wray is a father, author, publisher, curriculum developer, inspirational speaker, mentor and vendor for the Department of Education and owner of M Wray Publishing Group - based in the heart of New York City. He came of ageon the mean and gritty streets of Jamaica, Queens, from which he would find refuge in the sanctuary of his pen and pad. This served as the impetus to inspire and motivate himself to greater achievements and aspirations. Aligning with the philosophies of his mentors Steven Covey and Jim Rohn on life and understanding self, he recognized the impact his shared written experiences held influencing lives of others. This material would subsequently secure a partnership with Cornerstone Academy for Social Action, a Middle School in the Bronx section of NYC, where he teaches a "social emotional learning" course transforming his past experiences into life lessons. It is a active learning and open discussion based curriculum to bring awareness and relevance to the youth in the urban community. Wray's independently published work, "The Random Thoughts of a Philosophy Major Drop-Out" is the framework on which the subject is based.
