Jacques MeyerBorn in Belgium, Jacques A. Meyer displayed his rapidly developing spirit of adventure early in life. He enlisted in his country's paratroops unit at the age of nineteen, and found himself in the middle of Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo (fomerly the Belgian Congo). At the close of that country's turmoil, the author decided to immigrate to Canada and on to the United States which has become his own country.
