Ilsa MayrIlsa Mayr was born in Yugoslavia, grew up in Austria, and immigrated to the United States as a teenager. After attending high school in Oregon and Missouri, she went on to graduate from Purdue University. Before she took up writing, Ilsa followed herlove of books into a career as a librarian.
