Ilene SokolThe photographs of Ilene Sokol reflect her life and her spirit. She combines her passion for nature with her love of photography and digital art. She lived in New England most of her life, drawn to the ocean and mountains. After moving to South Floria fifteen years ago, now living near the northern edge of the Everglades, she is captivated by the abundant wildlife and the awesome vistas so close to her home. Armed with her camera, she routinely visits the wetlands nearby where she finds serenity and delight. Her work features birds, wildlife and landscapes but, she describes her style as eclectic because there are so many subjects and techniques to explore. She enjoys taking some of her subjects beyond the photograph into a hybrid realm of photo-artistry that includes painterly effects and other techniques. For Ilene, the act of creating is the journey.
