IGLAHLIQ SUUQIINASuuqiina (Soo-keen-na) was born in Nome, Alaska and is Inupiat by heritage and race. His tribe is known as Aseuluk (Ah-soo-luck) people of the sea, and had resided on an island known as Ukivok (Oo-KEE-vok), now known as King Island. After living in a orphanage for six and a half years, he was adopted by non-native people in Northern Minnesota, where he received his education through high school. He received a Doctor of Letters in theology from his seminary in Florida and spent much of his life in local ministry. Suuqiina is an author of many books.
