He began his training with the Edward Barnsley workshops and went on to study wood science and technology and enolled in the four-year design proggram to Leeds College of Art. He did his graduate work atthe London School of Furniture. He has written 5 woodworking books and is a frequent contributor to Woodworkers Journal as well as Fine Woodworking.
