Hollis Kennedy MartinThe epiphany to leave D.C. didn't come to Hollis until over 15 years passed which included: no contact with the shadier, drug-addicted, and delinquent yet loveable portions of the family; letting go of true love twice; passing on the chance at a famiy; and most importantly, giving up any attempt to maintain good mental health. It started with the required polygraph to keep a security clearance having a central note of ensuring Hollis did not provide aid to the enemy, a downright offensive accusation given the dedication to this country since deciding on this life at the age of seven. The clearance was renewed, but the seed to leave planted firmly and started to grow. A few more years of living through hell made it clear, the passion was there but there was nothing left in the tank to give. It was time to join the common folk and support the country from way behind the lines. Then the books started to fall out of the soul and onto the page.
