Hiroshi YamazakiHiroshi Yamazaki has been Professor of the Laboratory of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics at Showa Pharmaceutical University, Tokyo, Japan since 2005. After receiving his BS and MS degrees from Gifu Pharmaceutical University and a PhD in Pharmacetical Sciences from Osaka University in Japan, he trained as a post-doctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN, USA in 1994. He was recruited as an Associate Professor at Kanazawa University from Osaka Prefectural Institute of Public Health in 1998 and then an Associate Professor at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2001.Professor Yamazaki's research has focused on cytochromes P450, flavin-containing monooxygenases, and simple pharmacokinetic modeling. His P450 papers cover a broad range of topics. He has authored over 500 original publications (http: //orcid.org/0000-0002-1068-4261) with an h-index of 66 in Scopus (Author ID: 557193405959) . Professor Yamazaki is a member of several professional societies and editorial committees and was designated as one of the experts of Chemical Substance Assessment Groups (of the Food and Safety Commission of Japan, 2006-15).
