Henri MasperoThe late Henri Maspero (1883-1945) was an eminent French sinologist and professor who studied under Édouard Chavannes and who along with Marcel Granet and Paul Pelliot can be said to have been one of the giants of French sinology. Henri Maspero's pioeering studies on Daoism has influenced generations of both Eastern and Western scholars in the field.
