Her first published work was a Canadian best-seller The Christmas Carol Handbook, which sold 10,000 copies in North America. Helen discovered fiction-writing while looking for new markets for her editing services. She wrote screenplays, scripts, short stories and a novel, Owen's Day, and discovered she liked the novel form best. Her fifth novel, Cruising to Danger, was published in September 2020.
