Helen YeatesBorn in 1945, Helen Yeates grew up in Brisbane, daughter of a secretary and an aviation weather forecaster. She taught at various secondary schools, and trained teachers at UQ and beyond. She became an award-winning film academic at the Queensland Unversity of Technology, nurturing some of the brightest young filmmakers of the next generation. For the past ten years, she has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at QUT. Helen is also a filmmaker, a festival judge, who has tangled with celebrities, hosted legendary parties and elegant salons.
