Helen K SmithHelen Kilgore Smith was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She grew-up in the west end of Natchitoches Parish; Marthaville. Helen attended the Marthaville School from Kindergarten until 11th grade; receiving her high school diploma from Natchitoches Cetral High School. Helen and her husband, Terry have been married 35 years and have a son, Landon. Helen began her career in Childcare; while presuming a degree in Early Childhood from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana. Presently; Helen is Substitute Teacher (PK-12th) for two East Texas School Districts. Helen is also a certified administrator in both Peritoneal and Home Hemodialysis. She is an advocate for the National Kidney Foundation, Donate Life, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. When not substituting or writing Helen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, nature walks, baking, and scrapbooking.
