Heather RichesHeather Riches, a daughter of a miner, was born in Yorkshire and educated at Hemsworth Grammar School. She trained as a college lecturer at Huddersfield University, though most of her teaching was done in the South Yorkshire coalfields. Although inteested in poetry from an early age, she did not start writing until later in life. Her writings reflect many of her experiences and the people she has encountered.
