He is Associate Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies and served as a senior analyst on foreign poliy and national security at the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain. He has addressed a variety of government organisations and think tanks, including the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Chatham House, the Royal United Services Institute, the Conservative Middle East Council and the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington.
