Harold Nightingale

Harold NightingalePoems of Love and Whimsy captures Harold's love of life and the way he celebrated it. His poems reflect the love of nature, adventure, sports, travel, writing and music. In nature, he was thrilled by the sight of the Northern Lights and aura of the nothern forests as he listened to the lone wolf's baleful cry. With his love of adventure, he would bike his country roads and stalk the northern ox.Harold liked the feel of his body in motion. As a youngster he enjoyed Canadian winters by skating outdoors and playing shinny hockey. He circled the mountain tops as a ski instructor. Harold also loved to box and play soccer, hockey and football. In the country's roaring rivers, he would sail and canoe. He liked to travel and connect with people. This was important to him. London, Paris, Munich and Madrid were some of the many intriguing cities he travelled.Writing allowed Harold to download and organize his thoughts and feelings. This included a myriad of feelings: love, sensuality and tenderness, sorrow and grief. Illness often racked his core. Amidst all of these emotions, humour and wit were bountiful. Night Errands is an illustration of this humour.Early on, Harold played the harmonica, which was easily carried aboard ship or on canoe trips. Later, all of his feelings were also expressed on the guitar. Harold would say, Music is the feeling for carrying good lyrics, and carrying the Poems of Love and Whimsy.Harold Nightingale also shared his life in his autobiographical video dated 2012. This video is wittily narrated by Harold himself. Read More Read Less
