Gregory CarmichaelDr Gregory R. Carmichael has a BS, MS and PhD in chemical engineering and has done extensive research related to air quality and its environmental impacts. He is currently the Karl Kammermeyer professor of chemical and biochemical engineering at the niversity of Iowa. He also serves as chair of the Environmental Pollution and Atmospheric Chemistry Scientific Steering Committee of the World Meteorological Organization. He is fellow of American Geophysical Union (AGU), and fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He is a leader in the development and application of chemical transport models at scales ranging from local to global. He has published more than 350 peer-reviewed papers to date. The majority of his recent papers deal with the development and application of chemical transport models (CTM) to studies in regional atmospheric chemistry, air quality and climate.
