Greg WeasahI began writing poetry in the sixth grade when I lived in Charlotte, NC with Aunt Janet. My first mentor and sixth grade English teacher Blake Zimmerman introduced me to poetry. He showed me selections from Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and many mor, and before I knew it hooked! I wrote every chance I could get, and with the encouragement, love and sofrom my family to read more to enhance my vocabulary and my reading comprehension. I just knew with the help of my family I will be great, thanks to them. In May of 2015, I graduated from Lake Highlands High School with a 3.68 GPA. soon after High school, I began my college career at Richland community college I was there from August of 2015 to July of 2018. Now Today, I'm currently in college pursuing a degree in B.S in Learning and Technology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In 2017 I won the poetry contest at Richland. In 2017 I received Honorable Mention at the Texas Junior college Student Government Association State poetry contest. Read More Read Less
