Grady SouthwickGrady was born in small rural farming community. He was raised on a cattle operation that his grandfather owned and at a young age, he was involved with the daily operations of raising beef cattle. From a young age, Grady was exposed to the lifestyleof hard work around a farming operation that incorporated driving cattle herds, various miles into the mountains and then back down to pastures for fall and winter feeding. During this time Grady learned the art of horsemanship and from a very young age he had stewardship over the many horses and mules that would bring happiness and adventure into his young life. Grady continues to own and ride his horses and mules into his later life. He can be found riding on the various trails and mountain valleys packing and camping throughout the summer and fall months in many of the rocky mountain wilderness areas. Grady has always had a desire for nature and that yearning has been brought forth in his latest efforts to pen his thoughts into novels. Riding the trails and feeling the western winds as they felt hundreds of years ago, Grady lives the trail life that he exposes in his novels stories. Grady has used his skills and education to research and gain a historical perspective for the characters portrayed in his novels. He writes it as he would have lived it back in the days of the golden west. Grady has an eye for detail and that shows in his descriptions of the places and events as he writes his western themes. With a college education and time served to his country, Grady met his lifetime mate and with a desire to live a completed life, he and his wife Patty, have raised four children, and have twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Grady has been a self- employed business owner and sales manager of a large corporation for the past forty years and as retirement years approach, he has the desire to write many western adventure novels of the old west. Many times a year he can be found on location out in the western mountains, plains and badlands working out the details to his next novel. He loves to get out and see the sights, hear the sounds and feel the wind just as it was back in the day. Swinging his leg over the saddle of his big grey horse, he rides into the next novel with adventure in his mind and a novel in his heart.
