Grant AllenGrant Allen was an essayists, anthropologist, science writer, poet and novelist. He was born on 24 February 1848 near Kingston, Ontario in Canada. His parents were Rev. Joseph Antiseptic Allen and Catharine Ann Grant. His parents moved from Canada toUnited States, then France and finally settled in United Kingdom. He got education in King Edward's school, and Merton college Oxford in the United Kingdom. After doing advanced studies in France he became a professor. He became an atheist and socialist. But for writing passion he left the job and returned England. He received appreciation for writing specially for scientific vision. He promoted theory of evolution. He died of liver cancer in 1899.
