Gordon R ClarkeGordon R Clarke is, in his spare time, an international authority on banking technology and financial policy. However, he prefers to write stories and poems, play the guitar and performing comedy revues. He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridg University and a PhD in Applied Physics from City University in London. He spent his early career in information technology at the Bank of England, whence he moved to international management consulting, working for twenty years for top international firms. In the 1990s, he became a partner in Coopers & Lybrand and then PricewaterhouseCoopers in Australia. He now runs his own consulting firm based inSingapore, with occasional visits - pandemics permitting - to the 'old country'. Born and brought up in south-east London, Gordon has lived and worked on five continents, which creates the backdrop for his writing. He now spends his time mainly in Thailand andGreece, or on-site with clients. During his career, he has published three technical books, many articles on behavioural economics, payment technology and cryptocurrencies and a number of philosophical papers on science and religion. Technology and travel inspired his early writing and, over the years, he has frequently explored his experiences in short stories and poetry. As a research student, he won a London Colleges short story competition, judged by the late Philip Larkin. Having taken the plunge to collate his first book of short stories, Gordon is looking forward to publishing other works that have been in development over the past thirty years or more, and to making the most of his wide range of interests from financial markets and science to music and creative writing.
