Giulio DagninoGiulio Dagnino is Associate Professor of Medical Robotics at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He focuses on advancing image guided robotic intervention, particularly in developing MR Safe Devices for targeted therapy. Giulio received his Sc (2004) and MSc (2007) in Bioengineering from the University of Genoa, Italy, followed by a PhD in Medical Robotics from the Italian Institute of Technology 2013 )). His doctoral work centered on novel technologies for robot assisted laser microsurgery. Subsequently, he was postdoc at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, focusing on robot assisted fracture surgery. In 2017, Giulio joined the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery at Imperial College London, where he led a team in developing an innovative MRI safe robotic platform for endovascular interventions. This platform underwent successful testing in user studies and in vivo animal trials. Giulio's research contributions have been widely recognized, with numerous publications in esteemed journals (Science Robotics, IEEE TBME and conferences (ICRA, IROS), along with prestigious awards such as the IEEE ICRA Best Paper Award in Medical Robotics (2016) and the Best Design Award in the UK RAS Surgical Robot Challenge (2019). He serves as Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics andBionics journal and is Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. Read More Read Less
