Georges Baur

Georges BaurMr Georges Baur was born on 30 April 1961 in Basel. He graduated from the law faculty of the University of Zurich in 1985. Between 1985 and 1991 he worked with a district court, the Court of Commerce in Zurich, and as a lawyer in a Liechtensten Bank. In 1992 he was admitted to the Zurich Bar. In 1993 he acquired a Diploma in European Economic Law from the University of St. Gallen and obtained his Doctorate in Law from the University of Zurich in 1995. From 1993 to 2000 he worked as a lawyer in a Liechtenstein law firm. From 2000 to 2003 he was an advisor to the Government of Liechtenstein, coordinating issues in the financial sector. In 2003 he became the Deputy Head of the Mission of Liechtenstein to the EU in Brussels. In 2012 he was appointed Assistant Secretary General of the EFTA Secretariat in Brussels. Mr. Georges Baur chaired the scientific board of the Liechtenstein Institute in Bendern (Liechtenstein) and gave several lectures, mainly on institutional aspects of EU association law, but also on international law.
